I have 6 years experience in teaching kindergarten English,phonics,math and chinese and all primary school levels EMCS n lower sec English and Math.Will go thru the list of phonic sounds,phonograms,consonant blends etc.. Will focus on reading,pronunciation,recognising of phonics sounds ,writing,spelling etc. Many are primaray levels now as when i started tutoring them, they were in pre sch. They have been under my tutelage since pre sch.Will use the jolly phonics approach for phonics teaching this. I am able to spot the trend in examinations and thus prepare my students well by exposing them to a variety of possible examination questions. I do train them to study smart not just hard. Many of whom have stayed with me since kindergarten or lower primary. Thus am familiar with the syllabus and i know what are the requirements for each level.Will teach the various methods of answering questions, looking for clues, identifying the types of questions asked. Much to elaborate for each particular subjects. Im particular  in teaching  accurate pronunciation (oral)and writings(written) . I have been also teaching students with ADHD,Dyslexia,Autism. Will use suitable methods n approaches to help each individual as according to their needs.Will partner parents to further improve child’s performance by giving constant feedbacks. My hope is to bring out the best in your child with my patience and constant encouragements and most importantly increase his or her confidence level and develop a spirit of perseverance in him or her to strive for his or her best! My teaching style is a student-centered approach and the inquiry-based learning style. I will try different teaching styles to best suit your child's learning style. At the end of each lesson, I will get the child to recap the tips/pointers I have highlighted during the lesson. I will ask for the child to recall of these pointers at the start of the next lesson. This is in hope to build up the memory muscle. I will provide comprehensive notes done by myself to cater to the needs of the child. Many of my students started as failures in their subjects but till date they have scored B, some even an A. I will identify and work particularly on their weak areas, and making sure each component required for the exam paper is covered well. For eg for math  I will help students who are academically stronger to stretch even further and obtain better grades by allowing them to practise challenging questions of a higher level. I will guide such students by teaching them to think from a different angle to solve higher-level questions, and also introduce more problem solving techniques if they are able to cope with it. I am also very familiar in teaching ‘Model Diagrams’ which is an essential problem solving technique for primary school Mathematics. ‘Model Diagrams’ are essential for weaker students, especially since they are unable to visualize word problems. I will make use of these diagrams to help the students visualize better, and slowly trains them so that they will be able to adopt this technique on their own eventually.
