"Trying and failing is better than not trying at all."
Hello, my name is Daryl and I have about 3 years of private tutoring experience starting from my polytechnic years. I am especially good with O level English. I enjoy teaching students and seeing them gain new-found confidence in a subject/area which they were previously weak in. My teaching method would be to work with the student on a personal level so as to better grasp each individual learning style and requirement. For English, the usual problems arise from poor comprehension, misconceptions in grammar usage, inadequate experience in reading/writing and thus performing badly in essay writing. I have a love for languages and the humanities and my mission is to instill this same love in my students so that they will be personally motivated to command a good grasp of the subject.
I have experience teaching a group of PRC students (~10 students) and they have all gone from an F9 to As and Bs. Some are now studying in the local polytechnics while others have gone on to the JCs or overseas. My last student, a Sec 3 kid from China was rebellious and failing his subjects. I managed to improve his attitude and his English improved from B3 to F9.
