"Service with a heart"
During my time in Junior College, I have also extended help to my juniors in their academic pursuit. Though these are informal sessions, I have gained valuable skills that allow me to impart vital concepts across effectively. In tutoring, I focus on building strong foundation of each subject for my students. With this, I believe that every student will be able to improve from then on to tackle more difficult questions using the concepts that they have mastered. I am patient and always willing to go beyond in order to ensure that my students are able to have a good grasp the subjects. Seeing my students improve with each tests and exams gives me a sense of satisfaction as I know that the time and effort paid off. In Junior College, I was the Captain for the school’s Floorball team, Vice-President for Malay Cultural Society and also the Class Representative. In all these appointments, I have gained leadership skills, organisational skills, communication skills and many other valuable traits. With that in mind, I not only wish to impart academic knowledge but also valuable life skills in giving tuition to my students. Traits like self-discipline, commitment and hard work will be instilled upon students. This traits will be helpful both their academic pursuits and future.
Primary 4 (EMS): Student (Girl) managed to improve on her grammar and comprehension. This allowed her to answer the punctuation, editing and comprehension sections better. Though not drastically, her results improved consistently over time through CA1 to SA2. In addition, she also managed to grasp mathematical concepts effectively and thus not only depend on memorisation to solve mathematical problems.
