"Positive Pressure, the Best Measure. "
I believe in providing a relaxed but encouraging environment for the students to learn in. I feel that a stressed out student might not be able to achieve what he/she is capable of achieving, and this all along i believe in the concept of providing positive pressure to the student, in the form of encouragement, progress reports and weakness reports. To elaborate, i use this framework of tutoring since i first took up part time tutoring in upper secondary/junior college, where i tabulate the unique student profiles for each student. i will be able to show the stident and his/her parents a fortnightly/monthly report on the student's performance, his/her areas which he/she are still currently weak in, and areas in which he/she has been improving and is showing potential to be a stronghold in that subject. That way, i feel the student and the parents are able to help the student himself/herself to focus on the weaker areas in times outside of the tutoring lesson, and with such collaboration between the tutor and tutee, i am sure the tutee will be able to achieve improvement in that subject being taught and achieve a grade he/she is truly capable of. Thank you.
I have helped a Primary 6 student achieve a B in English for his End of year exams from a D when i first took him as a student about a year (at the start of his Primary 6) I helped a Primary 3 student improve from a generally static score of 50odd marks in Mathematics to a high score of 74 marks in her final year exam. Additional experience: Tutored a Seconday 4 student elementary Chinese for 4months.
Good A level results in Economics (i got an A, my area of interest for tutoring) and overall comparably good results for Seconday 4 End of year exams.
