"Excel through practise"

I have just graduated from Raffles Institution (JC) last year. I have achieved 7 As for my GCE A levels in 2013. I am available anytime during the weekends or evenings of weekdays. (My fees are negotiable) I strongly believe that each student has the potential and ability to achieve academic excellence given the right teaching style and guidance. Through experience, I understand that each student is different in terms of their learning capacity, styles and attention span. As a tutor, it is imperative that i customise each lesson to suit each student's level of understanding in that particular topic. During each session, my students will first be taught the important concepts of each topic and guided to solve standard exam questions. After which, they will be given topical prelim questions as homework to reinforce what they learn. My teaching philosophy will ensure that ultimately, each and every student under my care will have a sound conceptual knowledge that will allow them to solve questions of varying difficulties, and also to draw links between the different topics and disciplines. Being a student before, i can emphatise with my students on the stress and challenges that they are facing, especially in the face of massive amount of content from the numerous subjects. As such, i will also impart my learning strategies and personal mnemonics which i use to help me memorise key concepts and ideas to allow students to ace exams. Personally, i enjoy mentoring students because it gives me immense satisfaction to see my students improve under my guidance. It is a very meaningful job which aligns with my personal values and what i believe is important in this world. I have taught two students H2 mathematics before, and was a part-time tuition teacher at EduFarm Learning Centre. Additionally, i was part of the mentors for my school mathematics peer mentoring programme.
