Tutoring Experience (in years): 6 years Brief description of my experience: I had once tutored a student from Primary 1 till 6 for Chinese. When i first started teaching him, he could barely speak Mandarin as he grew up in New Zealand. By the end of his primary school education, I helped him to achieve distinction for Chinese :) I am an engaging person who will find ways to motivate students. My current job scope requires me to talk to principals and teachers which make me quite aware about the school's situation. My teaching Philosophy: 1) Never intimidate a child into learning. It's my responsibility for a child to develop interest and the intrinsic motivation to learn more about a subject, rather than using fear to force him/her to learn. 2) Always make it a point to identify and reinforce the strengths of a child to him/her so that he/she can gain the needed confidence and motivation to work hard for the subject
