"Ask when in doubt, practice to perfection"
I am a Nanyang Technological University (NTU) undergraduate studying Bioengineering in School of Chemical and Biological Engineering (SCBE). I am strong in my Maths and attained A1 for my E Maths for my GCE O’Levels. I was also from Nanyang Junior College. I am a cheerful and friendly person and I believe that I can help the student to better understand concepts in class as well as given ample practices to do to improve and do well in the subject. I have 3 years experience of teaching tuition from primary to secondary level. I have given tuition to a total of 5 students, teaching Pri 2 Maths, Pri 4-5 Maths and Science and Sec1-3 Maths. In my latest tuition assignment, I taught a Sec 1E EMaths student and helped to improve her grades from B4 to A2. The greatest achievement thus far is to see my students enjoy learning from me and seeing them improve their grades. Furthermore, I do have some form of experience in tutoring in my CCA, Regular Services Project for the Hearing Impaired (RSPHI) where I tutor Deaf or Hearing Impaired children. This tutoring experience had benefitted me greatly as it trained my perseverance and patience in helping the child that I was assigned to. The most challenging thing is to gain their trust which cannot be build overnight. Over the course of 3 years in my CCA, I have taught 3 children varying from primary to secondary school level. Most of the children I have tutored made improvements in their grades as being a Deaf or Hearing Impaired child and trying to cope in a hearing school in no easy feat if you do not have a helping hand. I am glad that I was able to be the bridge between their Hearing teachers and them as I was able to help them better understand what is taught in class daily. I have 3 years of volunteering experience with NTU WSC where I do primary and secondary tutoring for Deaf children and actively involved in Deaf community activities. I also served as a Centre Head for one of the centre in my second year.
I have tutored 5 students over the course of three years and all of them improved their grades after tutoring them for a year.
