I taught Primary School children weekly in Secondary School as part of my CCA, and was able to answer their questions in such a way that they were able to understand. I try to explain in simple terms and often use analogies to aid understanding. I also trained Primary and Secondary School Students in Media Literacy this year. Lessons were conducted in a large class, with individual attention given to each student. I was able to control the class and ensure that they paid attention to the lesson also, I was able to ensure each student was given individual attention for any difficulties faced. I am currently teaching a JC2 student H1 Maths. My method of teaching is to summarise and explain each topic whenever required, and then to explain the types of questions that can be encountered in that topic and the simplified ways to answer the questions. I always allow the student to try the questions first, and if he/she is unable to do so, I will then explain how to do each type of question before getting him/her to attempt again. In this way, they are able to think for themselves and also apply concepts taught, which is quite important for math, as I believe that even if one understands the concepts, one might not be able to apply unless there is constant practice. All in all, I have the relevant experience needed to teach at Primary, Secondary and JC levels, and hope that you'll find my experience useful. Thank You!

People I have met have told me that I am patient and good with children, and these I believe are good traits to have when teaching Primary and Secondary students. I am also able to explain concepts in simple terms so students will be able to understand. I am particularly strong in languages (both English and Chinese). I was in the Literature Raffles Academy (a programme in which the subject is taught to greater depth and breadth to further develop students with good potential in the subject)as recommended by my English and Literature teacher and have scored consistently well for both English and Literature. (an A in GP, an A* in PSLE, consistent GPA of at least 3.6 for the four years I was in RI, distinctions in various competitions on writing and language) Also, I scored an A2 in Higher Chinese, and have scored a consistent GPA average of a 3.6 (equivalent to a grade of 70 and above)for the subject in my four years in RI.
