"Differentiate yourself to succeed. "
I have had 2 years of experience teaching secondary school and high school students, helping them with Mathematics, English, Chemistry and especially SAT and TOEFL. I speak with an American accent, which is an advantage if the student wants to practice standard English. I often encourage my students to try different reference materials, help them with finding qualified resources and show them how to solve problems themselves, without giving any straightforward solution. This method forces students to think critically and to rely on their own effort. In addition, I have a way to link fun and easy-to-understand examples to the dry concepts to make the lesson more enjoyable.
I have helped 3 students achieve 2100+ in their SAT tests and 780-800 on SAT Subject tests (Math and Chemistry).
I was ranked 3rd in the National Merit Examination for Gifted Students (Subject: English) and 2nd in the Provincial Merit Examination for Gifted Students (Subject: Chemistry). My GPA in high school was 9.2 out of 10.0, the second highest of the graduating class. I represented my high school to the Life Sciences Symposium 2009 by Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) Singapore and won 2nd prize and Most Creative Award (Theme: Design an eco-friendly campus).
