"Patience is always the key to success. "
I have been giving english tuition for a year. My past students were from a neighbourhood tuition centre that was held in a church. Classes were held weekly and my students were aged from 13-18 years old. I held classes that touched bases on the different components of the english language (composition writing, letter writing, oral practice, comprehension, grammar and vocabulary). My experience also comes from the current students that I am teaching. I currently have both local and foreign students. I have helped my foreign and local students pass their entrance exams (AEIS) and GCE O level english exams. You can be assured that I am extremely familiar with the syllabus for both local and foreign students in Singapore. My teaching method that has helped my students improve is patience. Many of my students came to me with sub-par results. They fall behind in school because their teachers rush to finish the syllabus in order to kick start the revision for the O levels. My slow but steady teaching method has helped my tutees analyse their weaknesses and strengths in the language. By breaking down their weak components, we were then able to tackle these weaknesses one by one. I understand that mastering a language is daunting and challenging. But as long as both tutee and tutor work hard together, success can definitely be achieved.
I have helped my students' fluency in the english language through my phonics and grammar drills that I put them through during classes. My tutees can now speak conversational english. China student's 2013 GCE O level results: A2 Sec 3 girl from Broadrick Secondary School (local)'s EOY results: A1
I obtained an A1 in English for GCE O levels and consistently topped my band 1 english class in secondary school. I've also obtained an A2 in social studies and geography, B3 for Pure Literature (English).
