"Learning at your pace"
I am Jaime Wong, 23, currently pursing a Masters degree in Strategic Studies at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) at NTU. As part of the Masters program, I am working on my dissertation on the topic of Chinese nationalism and how it interplays with China's policy towards territorial disputes. I recently graduated from the Australian National University in Canberra with a Bachelor degree in International Relations and a minor in Political Science. My specialisation are in International Security and Asia-Pacific politics/current affairs. These subjects are highly related to History. Besides my areas of expertise in International Relations, Strategic Studies and Political Science, I am also adept at the study of Literature (Poetry and Prose) particularly at the secondary-level. Aside from pursuing a Masters degree at the RSIS, I am also a part-time musician. I was also the winner of the Noise Singapore Award (an Arts mentorship program by the National Arts Council) in 2012 for music. I made use of this hobby to teach: I gave guitar lessons to both adults and children for extra allowance while I was studying abroad. My experience includes relief teaching at CHIJ St Joseph's Convent for a one-year period. I coordinated and executed lesson plans (History and Literature) for 9 Secondary 1 and 2 classes as well as compiled and summarised students’ progress regularly for supervisors’ review. I also co-wrote a primary-level English assessment book in 2012.
