I graduated from Nanyang Technological University and my major is Chinese. Now I am a second-upper-honour graduated student. As Mandarin is my mother tongue and my primary and secondary schools used Chinese to conduct lessons. My secondary education was Foon Yew High School , which is a famous Chinese school in Johor Bahru. I am particularly devoted to and skilful in Chinese. Therefore, I chose to be major in Chinese in NTU. In my second year in NTU, I went to Taiwan, for an exchange programme for half year and I had learnt a lot from it. So, I can also master the Mandarin they say. Besides that, I had participated in the Ministry of Education (MOE) Teaching Internship Programme (TIP). I had been assigned to a secondary school in Singapore for my Professional Attachment for 10 weeks. In this programme, I have been given a wonderful opportunity to experience Singapore school curriculum and observe lessons from different teachers, subjects and stream. And I also to put into practice the teaching-learning process in classroom. I taught Chinese there and as a result, I know the Chinese standard of secondary education in Singapore. Besides studying, I was a research assistant in NTU Centre for Chinese Language and Culture for 5 months during my final year. My job scope is doing transcription of Chinese Oral recording and proof reading works. Now, I am helping a NIE teacher doing a teaching pedagogies research.
