"A guiding hand towards knowledge and understanding"
I have been teaching for the past 5 years, and specialize in teaching upper secondary school students. In the past 5 years, I have taught students from schools including Raffles Girls, Raffles Institution and Hwa Chong. As a tutor, I believe that we have a duty and responsibility towards our student, to guide them along in their academic path and help them understand the concepts. The students and parents place their trust in us, and it is our duty repay this trust. Being a tutor is more than a job; we are in a position where we can make a great impact on our students' lives. My teaching philosophy is to guide my students to understanding the concepts behind the content that they are learning, rather than just getting them to score well through memory work. By understanding, they have a much higher knowledge retention, and it also provides greater motivation for them to push on as the pieces of what they are learning all start to fall in place.
Taught students from Raffles Institution, Raffles Girls and Hwa Chong, and other schools. All with significant improvements. One of my students, for example, improved from getting 'C's in Math and Science in Sec 3 to getting 'A' for O 'levels' and entering JC (I continued teaching him after that)
Straight 'A's in O levels and strong performance in the area of Math and Science
