"Learning with confidence"
As a tutor, I would assess my student's ability during the first lesson and come out with a structured lesson plan to follow. I would also prepare several notes and handouts for the students to ensure that they read widely, which is essential in doing well for the General Paper. Additional assignments might be given when needed to ensure students are able to retain what they learn during their lessons. Overall, I am highly confident in my ability to work with the student to achieve the desired grades should the student be willing to work hard too.
I have been coaching students in the GCE 'O' Levels English and GCE 'A' Levels General Paper for 5-6 years. Through my experience, I had taught over 30 students, with a majority of them scoring over a B. 12 students had achieved a distinction for their GCE 'O' Levels English, while 11 of my students had achieved an A for their GCE 'A' Levels General Paper. Currently, I am tutoring 1 student in 'O' Levels English, and 1 student in 'A' Levels General Paper. One of my my proudest student, Edmund Tan, from Woodlands Ring Secondary School, scored an A2 in his GCE 'O' Level English Exam despite scoring a consistent C5/C6 in his previous examinations. With his hard work, he had managed to score a stellar grade. From then on, I would use him as an example to all my students to show that it is indeed possible to score a distinction in English as long as they are willing to put in the hardwork.
