"Skills The Key"

Undergrad tutor who has helped students go from borderline passes/failures to scoring "B"s in year-end examinations. I have a strong grasp of socio-political issues and an excellent command of the English language, and this enables me to succinctly teach Social Studies and English. My pedagogy focuses on skills and understanding on three levels - firstly, understanding and grasping the skill; next, putting the skill to use; and finally, sharpening the skill through constant practice. I believe understanding to be a preferable route to rote memorisation in helping students score well in examinations, as it will enable students to apply knowledge with greater ease to a wider spectrum of examinable topics.
