"If you cannot explain a subject in a simple way for students to understand, you don't know enough of the topic."
Step 1: Ensure sufficient understand on the subject at hand (will take varying duration depending on student's current understanding of the subject - more related to physics, and chemistry) Step 2: Practice various questions (what could possibly be thrown at them during test) Step 3: Increase student answering speed - engineering style (not enough time during exam is an issue)
Student get good grades mostly because they are willing to helped themselves, tutors can only assist. I do not have tutors during secondary school days, i have A1 for E math and Combined Chem/Phy. But I had tutors for chinese, i had C6. The credit of student's own effort and determination for improvement surpasses what even the best tutor has to offer.
I still waiting for my Degree results from Nanyang technological university (out in july 2016)
