I study mathematics on a university level and understands secondary / JC mathematical concepts well. I have taught a few students on secondary and JC levels. I believe that students should understand math concepts instead of just memorising formulas so that they will be able to handle more difficult questions. I place more emphasis on whether students understand the concepts before moving on to practice questions. I don't like to spoon-feed students, and prefers to ask engaging questions to test their understanding of a certain topic. Once they are sufficiently proficient in a topic, I would provide students with enough practice so they know the variety of questions that can be tested. Rapport is also important between the tutor and student so I would try my best to build one. I am available for students to text me questions as and when they have any and I will be able to answer them as soon as possible.
My students were able to make a jump of at least 4 grades up.
4 H2 As in A-Level, Best in Mathematics for my cohort in JC, Dean's List in university
