"Education - the second most important thing after life itself. Lifelong learning starts when life begins."
[About Me and My Tutoring Experience] My name is Adrian, and I'm a full-time tutor since year 2000. I've tutored Primary School students in Mathematics and English at a tuition centre for 12 years, and have also been providing home tuition (1-to-1) for the past 17 years now. Hence, I'm very familiar with the syllabus and the teaching methods used in schools. Having worked with young children for so many years, I have the experience, the patience and the ability to understand the mentality and attitude of each child, and offer better coaching and guidance to help the child in achieving academic excellence in their studies. Many students find my teaching style lively and engaging, and have shown great improvement after I became their tutor. Majority of them have engaged my tuition service from Primary 1, all the way to Primary 6.
• I had a student who did very badly (scores usually below 40 marks) in Math from P1 to P3. After I took over the job as his home tutor from P4 onwards, his Math began to improve tremendously and he was able to maintain an average score of 80 for each test/exam he took. • Previously had a student who hated Math since P1 but had still managed to pass in each of her test/exam ('borderline' cases). In the first year since giving her 1-to-1 tuition at her home, her interest in Math started to grow progressively and her results improved steadily, scoring an average of 88 marks in each test/exam. Since then, Math had become one of her favorite school subjects. • Had a student who did very badly in English all along as his family was more Chinese-oriented in both spoken and written form (the family was Malaysian). Since I started coaching him in English on 1-to-1 home tuition, the student had begun to develop more interest in the English subject. According to him, the word games we often played during the lesson actually helped him learn more English words and build up his vocabulary. His average score for each English test/exam paper was 85.
