"Nurturing learners of the future"
I come from a Chinese speaking family which means I can speak fluently in Chinese and help students improve their Chinese oral and conversational skills. I am an approachable person because I have peer-tutored my friends as well as my younger sister when they need help in the subjects. My approach to teaching is to drill and ensure that students understand concepts more than just memorizing the facts. Hence, practices and exercises are given as homework to students to further ensure this. Questions these days be it from science, math, humanities and language subjects are changing and evolving into being more application-based rather than testing students on memory work. That is why ten years series are slowly getting less relevant because of how unpredictable questions can be. Nonetheless, I am confident that with my experience and patience as a tutor, I am able to guide students into making progress in their studies. Lessons tend to be interesting as I will ensure that students learn but not at the expense of their interest for the subject. Hence, I would normally dictate the mood of the lesson i.e. when should we be serious and when is it okay to be relaxed. With the attention of students, lessons can also be taught smoothly in the long run with the rapport built.
I have had 2 primary school students, one was taking PSLE and another in P2 whom were failing Chinese before I started tutoring them. After tuition, both passed their Chinese in their end of year exams i.e. PSLE and SA2.
My Chinese have always been grade A and above in national and school exams. A* in PSLE, A1 in 'O' Levels and A in 'A' Levels. Same for Geography, I have scored A in both 'O' and 'A' Levels.
