"Understanding struggles, overcoming problems."

Hi! I recently graduated from Victoria Junior College and am waiting for my A-Level results to enter a local university. I achieved 8 distinctions for my O-Level examinations and 2nd in Secondary Four History in Anglican High School. I was also consistently within the top 10% of my cohort for General Paper for most of my examinations during my time at Victoria Junior College. I am confident of being an effective tutor due to my strong academic foundation. My greatest quality as a tutor would be my ability to understand my students' struggles and empathize with them. Although I achieved good results, I started off as a weak student. However, I found methods and also created exam hacks to overcome my problems, to eventually achieve A1s. I hope to be able to share my methods with my students to help them to overcome their difficulties to achieve good results. I am a patient tutor and am used to teaching even the weakest students. After my O-Level examinations, I tutored at Project Starfish to help out-of-school youths prepare for their N(T) examinations. I believe I would be a good role model for my students and you can be sure of my work ethic. I am working to pay for my university tuition fees and have 4 years of working experience as Director's Assistant for Business Development in a fast-growing company. I started and led my own community project involving 80 youths from 10 schools which raised close to $10000 and reached out to over 8000 members of the public for the Dyslexia Association of Singapore in 2016. I was also in the Executive Committee of my CCA in VJC and am slated to serve as Vice-Chairperson for the Citi-YMCA Youth For Causes Alumni Committee in 2018. With my young age of 18 and my achievements and leadership positions, I believe that I will be able to form a strong friendly bond with your child and inspire your child to excel in all areas.
