I have been teaching English for a year. I have experience in teaching my younger siblings primary school subjects and am keeping up with the primary school syllabus. I believe in helping students to find confidence and motivation when learning the subject matter. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and to put in the effort to find answers for themselves beforehand. I can be strict on students if I see that they can push themselves even more, but I can be softer towards students who need encouragement. Teaching is not just imparting knowledge but imparting life skills and mentoring one to think well, and to think deeply.
I helped 3 Japanese expats learn English and gain confidence to speak it in the workplace. All of them have said they saw themselves improving in their listening and speaking skills in less than 6 months.
