"The first step to good grades is not how much a person is willing to study but it is really how much he/she believes in him/herself. And i want to be a part of that process..."
Firstly, i have little teaching experiences as i am currently doing a full-time study in the University of London as an external student.
Since my 'O' level days as a secondary 5 student, i was not at all an academic person. I did badly in school, find it difficult to catch up with the subjects and was always having a hard time understanding the topics.
Frankly, i even scored badly for my 'O' levels preliminary exams. However, many teachers came to me and told me that i have the capabilities to achieve good results based on my good character of being strong-willed and determined.
They told me that it would be such a waste to see me go down the drain. There are of course, some teachers who mocked at me, thinking that i was just like any normal academic student that possessed no hope in education.
But i proved them wrong. I put those good qualities into focusing the last one month of the exam preparations.
The fruits of my hard labour paid off and from a failure in my Prelims, i became a 13-pointer in the 'O' levels. It was then i developed a sense of importance in my studies and created different ways of useful study methods throughout my Poly life and now,in my Uni life.
13 points in the 'O' levels is not at all a great score but what i am emphasizing on is i wanna help people believe in themselves just the way that i believed in myself many years ago. I want to share my success and apply it to the younger generation so that they can be even more successful than me.
I do not really have any success stories yet as i am quite new but am confident of creating one.
I did my 'O' levels and obtained 13 points with 2 A's and 4 B's in 2002.
I did my Diploma in Biomedical Engineering at Ngee Ann Polytechnic majoring in electrical/electronics and various studies of the human body through Bioelectronics. Graduated in 2006.
I am currently with University of London as an external student doing my Bachelor of Science, degree in Computing and Information Systems which focuses more on software algorithms and programming with a little on business studies through computer and information technology. I hope to graduate in 2011 with a first class honors degree.
