"Every student is able to get his/her A"
Hi, this is favien. I'm still currently waiting for my admission to the university. I graduated from Tampines Junior College in the year of 2007. Basically, I will like to impart what I've learnt to the new students. I am a very patient person who will find the best way/method to teach my students. For every lessons that I've spent with my students, I will monitor their learning styles and restructure my teaching schedule. I believe that this will be the best pedagogy for my students to learn in an easier way and definitely, a much more interesting approach. I am a very enthusiastic and optimistic person who loves to handle any challenges that I may face in every student. I believe that no student is less talented in learning or "slower" as compared to his/her peers. I will lead by example and show them that hard work and determination are the two important factors to achieve marvellous results. I believe that with my coaching and my constant words of encouragement, my students will find my tuition session to be more thrilling( not just any normal school lessons). Basically, that is my approach or way of teaching/interacting with my students. As a former president in my secondary school CCA and a former councillor in my JC, I have tried out different ways to teach my peers. And this method turns out to be the best. My ultimate aim to teach will be to equip my students and let them be ready in the future. I will totally love to be the one who is helping to build the new batch of generation of students.
I had just finished teaching one Secondary 4 NT male student. I had him totally prepared for his upcoming N level examinations. This assignment was rather a satisfying experience for both of us, since we managed to come a long way since his secondary 3. My student here came from Taiwan and his English language was totally awful. I was entirely horrified by the way he speaks and writes. (He is much better now as compared to before) At that point of time, I had found this assignment rather tough and it will definitely be an onerous task to pull his grades up. However, my belief is that no one student is less talented and all students can be taught. Eventually, I took up the assignments and from that point, I believe strongly that the onus is all on my shoulders to make him excel. And so, I became his tuition teacher for the following subjects: ENGLISH MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE. As our lesson carried on weekly, I scrutinised closely and noticed the best way for him to learn. Each week, I got to change my teaching schedule to adhere to his learning style and pace. Finally, I could see that all his grades start to improve. As for now, I believed that I had found out his way of learning and right now, all I have to do is to put more focus and enforce his learning style. Everything, all the efforts(his and mine), finally culminated in his final year exams. For the two years that I'd coached him, I'd managed to pull up his english grade from a fail to a 70 grade. Palpable improvements can be noticed in his science and mathematics as well. This basically sums up my assignment with this NT Student.
