I have 6+ years experience in teaching Chinese in Primary school. (Just resigned in Oct 2009)My ex students include Chinese, non-Chinese and students with mild special needs, eg hyperactive & autism. My teaching style is tailored to cater to the needs of the students. The main objective of my lessons is to motivate the students, arouse their interest in the subject, help them learn through understanding and thereby improve their results.
Results of some classes taught: Example 1 2008 Mid Year Mean of students?marks increased from 20.8 (last year’s results) to 24.6. Lowest mark increased from 14(last year’s results) to 20. Year End Mean of students?marks increased from 24.6 (SA1 results) to 31.5 (SA2 results). Lowest mark increased from 20 (SA1 results) to 25 (SA2 results). Example 2 2009 62.5% of students had an improvement of 25% - 83.3%, as compared to previous results.
I have Bachelor of Arts with Diploma in Education. I have A grade for Modern Chinese Grammar. I am currently pursuing Masters in Education. I have A grade for Curriculum Design - From Theory To Practice and A- for The Curriculum In Singapore - A Critical Perspective.
