"Learning is fun for my students"
I have a combined experience of three to four years of teaching experience. During my secondary school days and holidays, I will go down to the Bethesda Before and After School Care, my previous student care and Telok Kurau Primary School to help out in teaching those lower primary school students and as well as to help the lower secondary school students in their school's homework. Apart from that, I have also help a friend of mine up by giving tuition to his brother and my cousins as well during my school vacation and free time. Further to this, I am currently giving tuition to two Primary Two and one Primary 4 students for English, Maths, Science and Chinese and one Primary Six for English, Maths and Science. As for my methods of teaching, there are two methods for my teaching, first, I will let the students to gain an interest in the subjects by making their studies more enjoyable and fun with the use of real life examples and humour in providing my explanation to them and so that they will learn to love the subjects rather than get bored with the subjects. By doing so, it will make my teachings more lively and alive and students will not find studying as a chore. Secondly, every each chapters that I have covered for the subjects, I will give the student a small test in order to assess their strengths and weaknesses in a particular chapters of the subjects as well as to know whether the students are able to understand during the lessons. From there, I will zoom in strengthening their weaker areas and enhance their strong in providing them with enrichment exercises so that the students will excel in all areas of their subjects. Besides, I will devise a study plan for my students way beforehand so that they are well prepared in taking their examinations.
During my secondary school days, I would stay back in school to teach my classmates their Mathematics, Combined Science (Phy/Chem) and they got an A for the subjects. I have ever helped two polytechnic students in Computing Maths and they got an A for their examinations. Besides, recently, my friend of mine who is pursuing her degree in Human Resource Management Degree in SIM, has asked me to help her out with her Organisational Behaviour and Employment Relations assignments and she got an A and a credit respectively.
