I've been basically teaching since about a year and a half ago. I've taught two boys. One was in primary four in 2009- He emerged top 10 in his standard for science and English in Coral Primary school. My other student has been taught by me since he was half way through the year of primary three. within roughly three to four months of tuition, his maths had improved from a fail of 30 plus marks to 60 marks, his English had also improved by 10-20 marks in his end year exams. My teaching methods are simple, I teach, explain it with examples and simpler english for children may not understand certain meanings of vocabulary. I go through the syllabus and the school textbooks regularly and I'm very strict about the homework I give. Of course,learning needs two hands to clap. So if the child is constantly lazy and makes excuses , It would be harder to push the child to greater heights. A good mindset is needed before the embarkment of any learning experience.
