"Learn. Not Study."

I personally believe that every child has the ability to stand on their own feet in their learning journey. First, by taking interest. Second, by taking initiative and asking questions. Only then can they train themselves to play an active role in their own learning. As a student before, I understand that it is difficult for schools to cultivate interest and effectively encourage critical thinking in each and every student in a classroom setting. That is the reason that, as private tutors, I believe that we are in a better position to inculcate these values, as well as reinforce that which is taught in school. My teaching mantra is this: The goal is not to teach my students how to ANSWER their Maths or Science questions. The goal is to teach them how to SOLVE their problems by rationalizing and reasoning, and if need be, going back to basics. By training their thinking abilities, they will gradually be more confident in tackling problems, thus eliminating the dread of school work that many students face.
