"Increasing efficacy through guided and focused teaching. "
I have been a tutor since I was in Junior College. I've tutored numerous students from Secondary and Primary schools and I have a proven track record of increasing their grades by at least one or two grades in the space of a semester. I am currently pursuing my Bachelors of Science, specialising in Physics education. I am currently on track to obtain a first class honors degree. Prior to this, I did my Diploma in education and managed to obtain a Diploma with distinction, and given several awards for academic excellence. I did a year of contract teaching and have managed to gain valuable insights into classroom teachings, especially because I was in one of the top schools in Singapore. I managed to secure a Distinction for my Practicum. Generally, I would say that my teaching style is efficient. This is because I would focus my energy on the concepts and my students' understanding. I believe that gaining a deeper understanding would serve to increase my students' efficacy and, inadvertently, equip him with the skills needed to tackle the questions.
I have helped students of multiple levels (secondary, primary) over the past few years. Most recently, I tutored a Primary Six student and within 3 months, managed to increase his English and Maths grade from a B and C to As for both subjects.
Diploma in Education (Distinction) - 1 of 8 student teachers out of a cohort of 500 to achieve this. Beng Kim Holdings Book Prize for Mathematics. 2011 (Awarded to the best Maths Student in the cohort). Anugerah Mendaki (2011) - One of 3 NIE students to be given this award. 7 Distinctions for O Levels.
