A "Normal" university by definition in China, is a Uni that trains teacher. This is a very well-known Normal University in China. During my school days, I got an average mark of 80/100 for all modules. Scored 95/100 in Chinese Lexicology and Grammar Exam(Distinction), and scored 91/100 for Final-year Dissertation on Modern Chinese Literature(Distinction). As of 2016, I have 17 Chinese literature works (poems, proses, novels) published in 3 of Singapore major literature publications. In 2016, I had a female student who scored A1 (improved from C5 for her Prelims) for her O-level after 6 months of tuition. Bottom-line is that, as long the student do Not have an attitude problem during tuition, as long as he is willing to listen, improvement is just a matter of how much it will be.
I had had a Sec student with his OLVL(Jun) Chinese grade improved from D7 to OLVL(Nov) of C5 just after a short tuition period of 14 lessons. More recently, I had another olvl student scoring B3 simply after 2 months of tuition. His best grade throughout his secondary sch life was C5. In 2016, I had a female student who scored A1 (improved from C5) for her O'level after 6 months of tuition. There were too many improvements to be quoted and the above were mainly the more amazing feats by my students.
