"Your Improvement is my Achievement!"
I have been tutoring for 7 years since 2005 after I left my first career in the SAF, where I served 5 years as a Naval Combat Officer in the Singapore Navy. I initially started giving tuition as a means of supplementing my income while I tried out insurance sales. It was then that I realized that my passion lies in teaching and imparting knowledge to the younger generation, and not in the blindless pursuit of material wealth. I then made the switch and went into MOE, where I started off as a contract teacher in a neighbourhood primary school in Bukit Batok, teaching my form class of Primary 3 English, Mathematics, Science, Physical Education and when learning opportunites presented, life skills and experience. I entered NIE for the Diploma in Education (Primary) and it was in 2011 when I left MOE to become a full-fledged private tutor. That was when I set up Mr Tutor Education as a registered company. In my 7 years of experience in tutoring, I have tutored students from different backgrounds, learning capabilities and levels of motivation. There is no one template of teaching that can be universally applied to every individual, as everyone has their own preferred way of learning, be it visual, kinesthetic, auditory or their varied combination. Hence, I strongly believe that tuition classes should not be taught with a one-size-fits-all approach but an individualized methodology that fits and caters to each and every student's learning needs. Be it a private individual lesson or a group tuition, no student will be marginalized due to his/her unique learning capability. Each and every student will be given chances to better him/herself. As MR TUTOR EDUCATION's motto goes, "Your improvement is my achievement!"
