"Understanding students, greater achievements."
NUS Bachelor of Social Sciences with honours (2nd upper), graduated in 2013, major in Geography with double minors in Sociology and Urban Studies. My teaching experiences include being an instructor at NUS for an overseas (Thailand) geography field studies summer school module in 2012, where I assisted the professors by facilitating team-based projects, and being a volunteer trainer at a social/ community development organization in Thailand for 4 months in 2013, teaching basic English, Research and Report Writing, Project Planning, Sustainable Development and Office Management. As a volunteer trainer, I had to develop the syllabus and execute my assigned subjects independently, and my teaching methods include indoor classroom teaching, seminar discussions, outdoor classroom experiences, role playing, spellings/ dictations, group projects, etc. I believe that education is the best policy/ insurance to secure one's future, and having understanding teachers/ tutors would help in children/ youths' interests in studying/ passion for a subject. I enjoy working and guiding children and youths because I feel that I can relate well to them, and I hope to guide/ help them in their learning. Meanwhile, I am waiting for the next registration for teaching with MOE to open.
I have helped 20 students with community management skills, and they are now teachers/ leaders themselves in their own communities. Some of the faster learners were qualified for resettlement, and they are now young community leaders at their new environment.
I have always topped/ competing for the top position for Geography in my secondary school and junior college. I was recommended to take Geography S-paper in junior college, but the programme was not supported in my college.
