"To motivate and teach"
I have been teaching primary school Mathematics since 2013. In particular, I've taught Primary 5 and 6 students whom are struggling with understanding their curriculum to prepare them for their PSLE. I fully understand how frustrated students are when they cannot understand certain concepts, no matter how many times they read their textbooks - I believe my strengths are in explaining things in other ways which my students can relate to; and offering numerous tips and interesting methods through which students can remember concepts and formulas. My students have kindly feedback to me that they came to understand and remember things better, instead of blindly accepting what they have been taught, and that they had no problems with the topics which I taught in advance before their teachers did. I've never been impatient with a student who is willing to learn, no matter how many times and how long it takes to reiterate something. As Mathematics is a subject that requires consistent practice, I'm more than happy to help my students when they contact me outside tuition hours to ask for help in revision. I am strict in terms of focusing on the task whilst on the job, but at the same time, I also make sure I encourage students to let them know how important studying, PSLE etc. is to their future, through telling them some of my personal experience, as it is my hope to spur them on to study hard for their subjects in their own time.
