"Believing each child has the fullest potential to achieve excellence."
am an educator with experience in various learning settings. I have been teaching for more than 7 years and am familiar with the early childhood and primary school settings. I was involved in the Bridging Programme organised by MOE/AECES and Playeum which helped children bridge from K2 to primary one. These programmes has allowed me to work with children of different needs and background. Currently I am working for AECES/MOE on a contract basis carrying out their FLAIR programme for K2 children. A high percentage of the children I have worked with in this programme exhibited low self-esteem, were unable to work in large group settings or just in need of more time to complete their tasks. This programme has helped me know and learn to understand each child better as I work with them individually or in small groups. Using various observation tools, I would then plan and execute my lessons to the different needs and ability of each child. Apart from Skool4kidz, I have previously been assigned to PCF Kindergartens where I worked with children with various learning needs such as selective mutism and dyslexia. There was a necessity for me to communicate effectively with the teachers and parents to support the children’s learning. My vast experience in teaching with the various organisations, different age groups and many needs of children have helped me develop an edge and skill in enhancing children’s learning. I believe that I am a learner too. This helps me to be able to reach out to children of all ages and needs. I am also expected to work very closely with each organisations, the teachers in class and the parents or care-givers of the children. These experiences have helped enhance my communication skills, be pro-active in children’s learning and to be very sensitive to each child ‘s needs and ability to bring them to their fullest potential.
