"Chinese is not as hard as you thought."
Firstly, I am a Psychology student who have taken psycholinguistic courses. I understand how hard it is for a child to be a proficient bilingual. Through the courses, I have got to learn tips of learning two languages simultaneously. For example, Hanyu Pinyin is one of the most helpful element to cultivate their interest in Chinese and improve their Chinese pronunciation. I would use a fun and easy way to assist student in mastering Hanyu Pinyin. Besides, the teaching programme I have planned would be spelling, dictation, story telling by the child, online exercise etc. I believe the child will be less likely to feel bored to attend a chinese tuition.I have worked in a tuition centre as a teaching assistant before. Although I was not required to teach any specific subjects, I was asked to assist the students with their school works according to their strengths or weaknesses. The tuition centre was mostly for students who are from single parent or poor family. We did not expect to see results with flying colors from them due to the hardship they were going through. And I was happy to see that the interest to learn was cultivated from them, and they changed from being reluctant to learn to trying their best to complete their work. I am a patient person and I understand individual difference does grant different child with different speed of learning. I learned to accommodate my way of teaching to the child's speed of learning.
