"Do not fill a bucket, but light a fire."
Besides helping out my younger brother and cousins with their study, I do not have much tutoring experience. However, I think that I have some qualities inherent to being a tutor, that is patience, staying calm and being able to encourage and motivate. I do not see tutoring as a one way approach whereby the tutor will merely fill in the student. I consider tutoring as an exchange between the tutor and student, whereby the tutor does his utmost possible to motivate and inspire the student. I sincerely believe that a good tutor does not just fill a bucket, but he lights up a fire. In this way the student will not only make the most of what is given to him, but will also acquire not only a thirst for knowledge but also more self-confidence. In today's globalized and highly competitive world, communication is everything. One may have a very deep knowledge on a particular subject, but if he cannot express himself or share his ideas with others, he will be quite limited to what he can achieve in life. Thus speaking a foreign language undoubtedly provides an edge over those who do not. I am a native French speaker I can provide extensive coverage on French language, its expressions and their usage in daily life, as well as the fundamentals of French Grammar, which can be quite daunting at first. My familiarity with French can also help me make it easier to explain and hence can make it easier and more enjoyable for the student to learn this language.
