"The world is our playground and classroom"

I am a recent graduate from NTU with a major in English and a minor in Communications Studies. I am currently working as an account executive in a PR company. I have been teaching English to Primary and Lower Secondary students for 3 years. I believe that understanding is the key to learning. I prefer to teach the foundations of English (I.e. grammar and vocabulary) before going into comprehension and composition writing. I also make my students do their corrections before coming through them with them. I also like to share with my students general knowledge as it will help with their composition writing and vocabulary. Mastering English should not only be about conquering comprehension, but also learning about the world. This will create empathy and enhance their writing skills.
